Supporting Communities, Then and Now

For more than 50 years, EACH has been making a difference in the lives of people who need support most. What began in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs as a response to gaps in local health and support services has grown into an organisation delivering vital health and social services to communities across Australia.
At the heart of everything they had a simple belief: care should be centred around the individual. We work to create a network of support that wraps around people, helping them access the services they need to live healthier, more connected lives.
That commitment was on full display recently when a group of our team members spent a rainy morning lending a hand at EACH Croydon.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather, there wasn’t a single complaint as our team rolled up their sleeves and spent two hours helping residents tidy up their outdoor space.

Armed with rakes, brooms and plenty of enthusiasm, we tackled what felt like mountains of leaves, sweeping pathways and clearing garden areas so residents could once again enjoy a clean and welcoming outdoor environment. The goal was simple: create a space that was not only pleasant to look at but one that residents could comfortably sit in and enjoy.
What made the morning especially rewarding was the response from the residents themselves. Many jumped in to help, and their appreciation was heartfelt and genuine. To top it all off, they treated us to a wonderful morning tea complete with sausages and snowballs — a nostalgic touch that brought plenty of smiles.
A huge thank you goes to the four incredible women who embraced the task with energy and good humour from start to finish. Their willingness to get stuck in made all the difference and turned a rainy day into a memorable community effort.
It was a fantastic session and a reminder that sometimes the smallest acts of service can have the biggest impact.
