Preparing the Ground for Something Special

The wind and rain held off for us on Friday as we arrived in Wesburn, ready to spend some time on Country.
We really believe in the simple but powerful way nature brings people together, especially through shared, hands-on experiences.
We spent the day getting things ready for the next day’s event — Ecotopia 2026, celebrating 20 years of Yarra Valley ECOSS. As the final event of Permaculture Week in the Yarra Valley, it’s set to bring together community, creativity, and lots of regenerative ideas in one beautiful space.
Most of our day was spent weeding, planting, and tending to the garden beds. It might seem small, but it all adds up — helping create a space that feels welcoming, full of life, and ready for people to come together.
There’s something really grounding about this kind of work. Slowing down, getting your hands in the soil, and working alongside others just naturally creates connection — with nature and with each other. It’s a good reminder that wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated; sometimes it’s as simple as showing up and sharing the moment.
We also loved learning more about the work ECOSS does and the role they play in the community. Spaces like this really matter — they give people a place to connect, get involved, and feel part of something bigger.
We left feeling full (in the best way) and really grateful — for the chance to come together, pitch in, and be part of something meaningful. 🌱
