Last week, we headed to Perth for our very first Plantfulness in the West event, hosted in partnership with Perth City Farm.

Located in East Perth, Perth City Farm is much more than an urban farm. It’s a thriving community space dedicated to helping people live more sustainably through education, hands-on experiences, and environmental action.

Built on what was once a polluted industrial site, the farm has been transformed by passionate volunteers into a vibrant hub for sustainability. Today, it’s home to productive gardens, a bustling worm farm, friendly chickens, colourful chillies, and plenty of inspiring projects that show what’s possible when a community comes together.

The team at Perth City Farm empowers people to adopt low-waste, low-emission lifestyles while creating opportunities to connect with others who care about protecting the environment. Their vision is simple but powerful: to help build a sustainable Perth where people, plants, and animals can thrive for generations to come.

Our wonderful host, Nadia, gave us a fantastic tour of the farm, sharing the stories behind its many projects and the incredible work being done to regenerate the site and support the local community. It was inspiring to see sustainability brought to life in such a practical and welcoming way.

If you’re ever in Perth, Perth City Farm is well worth a visit. We left feeling inspired, connected, and already looking forward to our next Plantfulness event in Western Australia!
