Growing Together: Plantfulness and Cultivating Community
At Plantfulness, we believe that gardening is about more than growing plants. It’s about nurturing connection, wellbeing and community. That’s why we were delighted to team up with Cultivating Community for a fantastic day in the garden, bringing people together to learn, contribute and enjoy the simple rewards of working with nature.

With the sun shining, our team got stuck into a busy day of gardening and had plenty of fun along the way. We weeded veggie beds, built bamboo supports for summer crops, spread compost and pruned overgrown bushes and citrus trees. We also fertilised the garden beds, checked for produce ready to harvest and planted seasonal seeds to help prepare the garden for the months ahead.
The day was made even more special by the residents from Women’s Housing who joined us and generously shared their gardening knowledge and expertise. Their experience added so much to the day, reminding us that gardens are wonderful spaces for sharing skills, stories and practical wisdom.
This collaboration reflects the alignment between Plantfulness and Cultivating Community: a shared belief in the power of gardens to bring people together, support wellbeing and create meaningful opportunities for connection. Whether it’s planting a seed, tending a veggie bed or simply spending time outdoors with others, gardening can help us feel grounded and connected.
It was wonderful to work side by side, learn from one another and enjoy the garden as a community. Together, we made a real difference to the space while creating an enjoyable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
A big thank you to Cultivating Community, the Women’s Housing residents and everyone who came along. We’re grateful for the energy, knowledge and enthusiasm you brought to the garden — and we look forward to growing together again!
