Strong partnerships create stronger communities. That’s why we were proud to support this collaboration between RMIT University’s Diploma of Business students and Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre, helping connect students with a real challenge facing the community sector.

Together, the students worked alongside Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre to explore new and sustainable ways to secure funding, supporting the organisation’s ability to continue delivering essential services to the community. It was an opportunity to step beyond the classroom, apply business knowledge in a meaningful way, and see firsthand how creative thinking can contribute to positive social outcomes.

For us, this project reflects what Plantfulness is all about – bringing people together, building connections, and creating opportunities that make a lasting difference. By linking education with community organisations, we can help students gain practical experience while supporting charities with fresh ideas and new perspectives.

The project also highlighted the value of collaboration. Students developed confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of the not-for-profit sector, while Carlton Neighbourhood Learning Centre benefited from the energy and innovation that comes from working with emerging professionals.

We believe that meaningful impact grows through partnerships. When education, community organisations and purpose-driven partners come together, everyone benefits. This collaboration is a great example of how shared knowledge, practical learning and community connection can help create stronger, more resilient communities – one project at a time.
