Partnering with Future Leaders: How RMIT Business Students Tackled Real-World Challenges for Our Charity
At Plantfulness, we believe that collaboration is the seed from which meaningful change grows. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with RMIT University and engage their talented business students in tackling two real-world challenges facing our charity.
Over the course of the semester, students from the RMIT Business School worked in teams to develop fresh, practical solutions to help us grow our impact and sustainability. We presented them with two core challenges:
- Innovative Fundraising Without Paid Ads
Our first brief was to explore new ways to fundraise without relying on paid social media or traditional donation asks. We wanted ideas that were bold, community-focused, and aligned with our mission. The students responded with a range of creative campaigns—from interactive community events to experiential partnerships and socially-driven product ideas—that not only inspired us, but gave us real tools we can take forward. - Turning Plantfulness into a Movement
The second challenge was strategic: how do we scale our presence and build a national movement around our message, without losing our grassroots feel? Students delved deep into brand development, strategic partnerships, and values-based marketing. Their insights gave us a renewed sense of direction and confidence in how we might grow, while still staying true to who we are.
The collaboration with RMIT wasn’t just an opportunity for students to apply their learning—it was a valuable exchange that gave our team fresh eyes on complex issues. Their professionalism, creativity, and heart gave us hope for the next generation of change-makers.
We’re proud to have been part of their learning journey, and even prouder to see the ways their ideas are already shaping the future of Plantfulness.
To all the students who took part: thank you for choosing to grow with us.
